The town of Long Grove, IL, is located approximately 35 miles northwest of Chicago and is home to just under 8,000 residents. Residents move to the community who are attracted by the large lots, tranquil views, and extensive open space. Long Grove was incorporated in 1956 and from the beginning, residents focused on preserving its rural character and open space. The town does not have residential sidewalks or fences in order to keep the openness and country feel. In addition to this natural charm, the town is home to a historic downtown center that is well known for year-round festivals including Apple Fest, Strawberry Fest, and Chocolate Fest, and includes popular destinations of specialty shops and unique restaurants. Restaurants are also attracted by the outstanding schools, which include elementary and middle schools with multiple National Blue Ribbon awards, and is home to Adlai E. Stevenson High School, which is ranked 52 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report and is the #1 open-enrollment high school in the state of Illinois.
